“Living Fence” is a site-specific mixed media installation that combines the technologies of a sustainable “living wall” with public art in the context of the beautiful urban-infused nature of Brooklyn Botanic Garden in the Spring of 2017.
Being a woman, an immigrant and a person who feels moral responsibility for climate change I don't think public art can be relevant without connecting to these important topics these days. I feel I must strengthen the voices for all these above mentioned issues with my public work.
By incorporating plant life and other materials found in the local natural environment with graphic elements, my installation dissolves the barriers between private and public space, between the organic and inorganic elements of the urban landscape, and between nature and art.
